A Course in Legal Theory Vol II. Legal Positivism

New product

This book, LEGAL POSITIVISM, which comprises Volume II of a textbook entitled A COURSE IN LEGAL THEORY, is dedicated to my two supervisors in Oxford, Prof. JOSEPH RAZ and Mr. JOHN R. LUCAS, who supervised my doctoral thesis entitled MODELS OF ADJUDICATION AND THE NATURALIST-POSITIVIST DEBATE, and my wife, MARIA MARTINA, whose support and encouragement during our short stint in Oxford, provided me the perseverance and inspiration to obtain my doctorate.

From JOHN R. LUCAS, I learned immensely regarding general philosophy and thesis writing. It was JOSEPH RAZ, however, from whom I gained whatever skills and expertise I enjoy in the Philosophy of Law. His patient tutoring and insightful analysis enabled me to upgrade my thesis to the required standards. To him, I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude.

From Martina, for whom my love is abiding, I would never have been able to finish my doctorate were it not for her. To wake up in the morning and to see her lovely visage beside me was an experience too rewarding to describe. To have her as a constant companion during the ups and downs in Oxford was a joy unparalleled. I will always treasure our time together, particularly in Oxford.
